We are excited to be playing this weekend with Italo & The Passions and The Head from Atlanta.  For all of you out there that are planning to come, you stop on by the Facebook event page and let the world know you're going.

April & May

Comments

Shallow Palace will be playing a handful of shows in April and May.  April 7th at Radio Room in Greenville, SC (Greg's birthday weekend!) and May 10th in Columbia during Five After Five in Five Points at the fountain.

Greg and a couple of the guys in the band are playing a set at The Whig on April 18th under the name Young Skywalker.  They're playing with the band When Particles Collide.

Our Last Show of the Year!

Comments

We have good things coming for 2012, including some new recordings and lots of shows.  But before we get ahead of ourselves, lets talk 2011.

Our last show of the year is at the one and only New Brookland Tavern with our friends All Get Out and All-New Badges.  If you want to hear some new material, you should probably come.

We are super excited to be able to squeeze another show in before the Holidays, so come join us at New Brookland Tavern on December 22nd for good times and good tunes.

We also just posted our Mamushka recordings to our Stream Our Tunes link so you can hear those tracks if you haven't already.

We are doing a little write up for SceneSC's 2011 wrap-up, so we will have more of our thoughts on this year for you soon.  Thank you guys for a great year, and come out to our show at New Brookland Tavern and help us finish the year with a bang.

Tour Update #1

Comments

So the great experiment has begun, and it has proved to be quite the adventure.  Touring with Sleepy Eye Giant has been nothign short of great.  If you haven't listened to these guys yet, stream "Consume" from our Mamushka Bandcamp

Harrisonburg was fun, we met some new people and got to hang out with the Carnahan family.  They always treat us so well, giving us a place to sleep and some food for our bellies.

Brett drew pictures of everyone so far on tour.  This is his rendition of me sleeping.

After Harrisonburg, we hit Arlington, Baltimore and Boston.  Tonight we find ourselves in Rhode Island, one of my favorite places to play.  We are playing The Apartment tonight in Providence RI after The Whiskey Republic cancelled our show in favor of doing DJs.  Ian Lacomb of Route .44 got us a new show in mere hours, and for that we thank him immensely.  Thanks to Lea as well for giving us the night.

If you are ever in Providence, I think both Shallow Palace and Sleepy Eye Giant would all agree that you should take the trip to Nick's On Broadway for Breakfast (served till 3pm).  Here is what I get everytime: a breakfast sandwich with bacon and home fries.

Tomorrow we play the Southeast CMJ Showcase with 15 of our friends and comrades from the Southeast.  If you are in New York City we will be there all day starting at 1am.  We go on around 8:20, and will be hanging out till 2am.  Come party.

Vinyl Update

Comments

This just in!  Our vinyl shipment was delayed due to our first test press being not quite up to snuff.  Unwilling to settle for anything less than the best for you guys, we told them "Do it again!"  They indeed did it again, and with great success.  We now are in possession of 5 test presses.

To make up for not having our vinyl records for our run of hometown shows, we will be offering one test press to one lucky attendee at each hometown show!

The way it works is simple.  We will have two jars.  One jar will be for donations to our gas tank for our travels.  One jar will be filled with raffle tickets.  For each dollar you donate to our gas tank, you get one raffle ticket to write your name on.  Before the last band of the night hits the stage, we will draw one name out of the jar and this person will win 1 of the 5 test presses in existence.

So if you dig vinyl and you dig supporting local music, $1 could win you our split vinyl LP Mamushka.  We will have CDs available as well along with shirts and other fun stuff, so come out and join the party.

Oct 5th // The Tin Roof // Charleston SC
Oct 6th // MAX // Athens GA
Oct 7th // New Brookland Tavern // Columbia SC
Oct 8th // The Radio Room // Greenville SC

New Record! Tour! CMJ!

Comments

So all sorts of good stuff has been happening recently, and we figured it was about time to fill all of you in.  After funding our Kickstarter we started recording at The Jam Room with Zac Thomas (as did Sleepy Eye Giant) and we send those tunes over to our friend Dave Harris at Studio B.  Now United Record Pressing has our masters and are cutting vinyl for us to deliver to the masses.

So we decided if we are going to put out a vinyl, we mine as well go on tour together, and why not hit up CMJ?  So we are happy to announce the following tour dates:

Oct 5th // Charleston, SC // The Tin Roof
Oct 6th // Athens, GA // Max
Oct 7th // Columbia, SC // New Brookland Tavern
Oct 8th // Greenville, SC // The Radio Room

Oct 16th // Harrisonburg, VA // The Blue Nile
Oct 17th // Arlington, VA // The Galaxy Hut
Oct 18th // Baltimore, MD // Sidebar
Oct 19th // Boston, MA // McGann's
Oct 20th // Providence, RI // The Whiskey Republic
Oct 21st // New York, NY // Parkside Lounge for Southeast CMJ Showcase
Oct 23rd // Philadelphia, PA // Legendary Dobbs

We have more dates coming soon...we are filling in our schedule as quickly as we can!  If you have any suggestions for places to play (such as your hometown?) let us know and we will see what we can do.

Stay tuned for a track from each band from the new recordings...

5 Points Pub, We Thank You

Thanks to everyone who came out last night to 5 Points Pub. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed playing with Whiskey Tango Revue and Mason Jar Menagerie.

We Did It!

Comments

That is right everyone, Shallow Palace & Sleepy Eye Giant, thanks to our loving and adorable fans, raised its Kickstarter goal and then some!  We are gearing up to record at the beginning of August at The Jam Room with Zac Thomas who did our album The Vig.

Kickstarter Our Hearts

Comments

We have just embarked on our first Kickstarter campaign with our friends Sleepy Eye Giant!  We are looking to raise $2500 so we can put out a split vinyl record together, and then tour in October in hopes of getting onto a CMJ showcase.

The split album is called Mamushka, the dance of brotherly love.  After our tour together in the Southeast this past May, our bond had reached a brotherly level, and the title just seemed all too fitting.

Each band will be putting 4 songs together for this, each on their own side.
